• Vank Church is the best museum in Isfahan to see the history of the Armenians of Isfahan. This church was built by order of Shah Abbas II and with the efforts of the Armenians of this city. The name of this church is taken from a church in the city of Nakhchivan called “Amna Par Gij Vank Ghogha”. Vank Church is also called “Church of the Holy Savior”. Vank Church was originally just a small building. Almost 50 years after its construction, construction began and it became the Vank Church we know today.   • Bell Towers of Vank Church
    One of the attractive parts of Vank Church, which you will see on the right after entering this church, is a tall tower called the “First Bell Tower” or “Clock Tower”. This tower is built in three floors. On top of this tower, just below the third floor, you will see a very large clock. The weight of this clock is about 300 kilograms. The clock of this tower was added to it about 38 years after the construction of the main building of Vank Church. The first bell tower was built by Mardis Huntanian, an Armenian architect.
    Second Bell Tower: Another bell tower of Vank Church is located on the roof of this church, between the western wall and the small dome. The second bell tower has a square shape and its area reaches 8 square meters. At the intersection of the sides of this square tower, a brick column rises, reaching a height of 3 meters.

    There are 2 domes in Vank Church. One of these domes is larger and is located on the altar of the church, and the smaller dome is located above the church hall. One of the interesting points about this church is the architecture of its large dome. The architectural style of the dome of Vank Church is similar to the domes of mosques. While the domes used in the construction of traditional churches were usually conical.
  • Paintings of Vank Church
    You can see beautiful and colorful paintings in almost all parts of this church. These paintings are on the walls, the interior of the dome, the arches and even outside the church.     In this church, you can see a large and complete museum that dates back 100 years. This museum is located in the northern part of the church. In this museum, you can see interesting and valuable historical works such as outstanding historical paintings, exquisite manuscripts and several other valuable objects.
  • Vank Church Printing House
    You can see the first printing house established in Iran in Vank Church. This printing house was founded by Khachatur Kasaratsi in 1630 AD. During the Armenian Caliph’s trip to Poland, he became familiar with this industry and was able to establish the first printing house in Iran in Vank Church. The first printed book in Iran was produced in this printing house, which was a copy of the Book of Psalms. It is interesting to know that the clergy of Vank Church worked for about a year and 5 months to print this book.
  • Armenian Martyrs’ Monument in Vank Church
    One of the bitter parts that remains from the past of the Armenian people is the Armenian Martyrs’ Monument. This building is located in the northwest of the church. The purpose of building this part was to inform future generations of Armenians about the genocide of this people. This monument is square in shape and has 4 columns. In 1975, on the 60th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Armenian engineer Albert Ajmian built this monument. Every year on April 24, Armenians gather at this monument to pay their respects to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
  • Hair Inscription in Vank Church
    One of the most special works that you can see in the Vank Church Museum is the hair of an eighteen-year-old girl on which sentences from the Torah are written. This special and unique work of art was created by a person named Vahram Hakobyan. He was an Armenian artist who was able to write sentences from the Torah on this hair with a diamond pen.
