Babak Khorramdin was born in Ardabil and passed away in Safar 223 / January 838. He was the main leader of the Iranian fighters against the rule of the Abbasid Caliphate and the leader of the Khorramdin movement, which rose up against the Abbasid Caliphate after the death of Abul Muslim Khurasani. Babak Khorramdin’s uprising sought the return of the glory and dignity of the Iranians, spreading to the west and central Iran, and ultimately failed after twenty years due to betrayal. This uprising reflected the continuity of the feelings and attachment of Iranians to their homeland and ancestors

The bravery, cunning, and talent of Babak in military leadership in the long struggle and the trust his followers had in him is undoubtedly exceptional
