Abbas Mirza (September 6, 1790 – October 25, 1833), known as Abbas Mirza the Vice-Roy, was a notable Qajar prince and the son of Fath Ali Shah and Asiyeh Khanum Doloo. He held the position of Crown Prince of Iran and acted as regent for his father in Azerbaijan from 1798 to 1833. He passed away before his father’s death, and his son Mohammad Mirza succeeded him.Abbas Mirza rose during the Iran-Russia wars in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus. Fath Ali Shah crowned Prince Abbas Mirza with the title “Vice Sultan” on the 13th of Shawwal in the year 1213 AH / March 20, 1799 AD. At the same time, Abbas Mirza became the governor of Azerbaijan.He fought with Sisianov in Yerevan during the First Russo-Iranian War on July 1, 1804, which did not yield a definite result. This war eventually ended after ten years with the signing of the Treaty of Gulistan, resulting in the defeat of Iran and the cession of Derbent, Baku, and Shirva
