He spent most of his life in Baghdad and was a member of the House of Wisdom. His fame in mathematics, especially in algebra, is well-known<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Al-Kharazmi University in Tehran, which is the eighth-best university in Iran, is named in his honor. George Sarton refers to the first half of the 9th century AD as the &#8220;Age of Al-Kharazmi&#8221; in his book<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Achievements of Khwarizmi <\/strong><br \/>\nPromotion of Indian-Arabic numerals<br \/>\nFoundation of algebra<br \/>\nSolving quadratic equations through completing the square<br \/>\nInvention of accounting and double-entry bookkeeping<br \/>\nAstronomy<br \/>\nWork on the astrolabe<br \/>\nTimekeeping and clocks<br \/>\nGeography<br \/>\nHistory<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Kharazmi Festival <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\nThe Kharazmi Festival is a scientific festival in Iran that is named in honor of the great Iranian Islamic scholar &#8220;Abu Ja&#8217;far Muhammad ibn Musa Kharazmi&#8221; to recognize the status of scholars and innovative technologists. This festival is held annually in two separate processes<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">One is known as the Kharazmi Young Festival for researchers and technologists under the age of thirty-five, which also has a student section and holds the awards ceremony for the winners in December. The other is the International Kharazmi Festival, which holds its awards ceremony for the winners in February in the presence of the President of Iran.
